Learning from people effectively is a skill anyone can develop. But before you dive into someone else's knowledge, you should be aware of factors that can affect the quality of the information.
With this TINO building block we dive into the world of recognized, semi-recognized and mainly unrecognized knowledge and show you that there is so much more knowledge to benefit from. If we know how to detect it!
Knowledge Detecting is relevant for teams in the business and the public domain), but also individuals who want to improve their decision-making skills.
“It was interesting to analyze our team-journey in this way. And it was fun to climb together!"
Why knowledge detecting?
- To search outside the box
- To find solutions faster

For the Dutch tax authority (Belastingdienst) we organized a series of TINO introduction workshops for their innovation (trends) team. We introduced them to the domain of unrecognized knowledge, its differences compared to recognized knowledge and its potential and importance for identifying trends. The workshops were all provided online (thus corona-proof) and full with interactive exercises. In between the team members worked on assignments and they received individual feedback.

Since 2017 we organize TINO programs in which students interview elderly as 'knowledge detectives'. The youngsters practice to learn from people you didn't expect to learn from and the elderly get recognition for their stories and knowledge. Our clients for such programs are nursing homes, municipalities, a national government and funds. These programs can take place corona-proof using videocalls.
