Hi Sofie, how long have you been drawing?
'I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. For example in my school notebooks and for the school newspaper. Because I liked drawing so much, I went to study at the art academy AKV St. Joost in Den Bosch. In 2017 I graduated as an Illustrator. In 2020 I took the step to start my own company: Studio SvE.'

What do you like about drawing?
'I like to think about which images fit the story. You can put a lot of knowledge into it: for example about the atmosphere, the color, but also different drawing techniques. You also have to make choices: am I going to make it on paper or, for example, digitally (on the computer)? Sometimes I even do a combination. I keep learning every day!'

You drew Feetje because you're super-different yourself, right?
'Yes that's right! I have autism. That's not always easy, but I think it's important that the world also sees the positive sides of being different. Because of my autism, for example, I am very good at seeing details and I go all out when I like something (such as drawing Feetje). I can do that well because of my hyperfocus.'

How did you like drawing Feetje?
'Very nice. Because the booklet is a leporello, the drawings also flow into each other nicely. It's almost like a movie. I think it would be great if there were even more super-different adventures because they have an important message.'

Yes I like that too! Then our Gang will become even more famous and we can find even more superpowers! :D
