TINO – Business Development - From concept to practice – No. 2

Developing a business demands effective management of external 'satellites'. – An effective network of TIKOs provides this
Business development aims to access new markets and customers. Towards this goal, a typical business-development manager will design new business models, and interact frequently with sales and marketing teams.

As we described in our previous posts, from a TINO perspective the fundamental error of the traditional approach is its emphasis on improving personal competencies. We believe however that the problem is rarely a lack in abilities. More often than not, it is a lack in information.
TINO does not aim to replace your current ...

Develop strategies and Navigate effectively within complex environment
The simplest way of explaining the practical use of the TINO framework is comparing it to driving in a complex environment. Let's analyze the interaction between three key factors be in such a situation: the car, the address, and a GPS navigation system.

From a business perspective:
- The car - stands for the whole range of production and operation processes
- The GPS - stands for the whole range (and levels) of managerial processes. These aim to achieve best effective cost benefits after being provided with business objectives.
- The address - stands for whole set ...
TINO - Consultancy that solves problems with much fewer advisors and consultants
In recent years I have met with a great number of consultants. Many of them were searching for new products and services to improve their offering, while also hoping to enhance their position in the market.

To those who were curious about what HUMINT was offering, I often suggested the following idea:
"How about joining hands in offering an integrated consultancy solution, composed of both TINO and your specific expertise?
Example: when your client needs better information, your KM (Knowledge Management) consultant will offer ‘documented’ solutions, and TINO will ...

The Hidden Expert
During the past few years I have been presenting the Think Intelligence methodology with its TINO framework and tools in many situations. I shared with thousands of people the pros and cons of what is termed the 'information technology paradigm', pointing out the need to modify some of the current 'documented' know-how and complement it with 'undocumented' human intelligence.
Searching the TIKO (Think Intelligence Knowledge Owner) - who is the Hidden Expert ?

In my best experience, despite great professional, personal, and geographical differences, most people reacted similarly. They felt we offered an interesting new approach, but that even ...
Typical consultancy versus the TINO consultancy
We usually contract consultants when we know how to solve a certain problem, but lack the time to do so, or in those situations where solving a given problem requires an ad-hoc, one-time effort, and makes such external solution faster and less costly. HUMINT Solutions provides you with solutions that dramatically enhance your problem-solving capabilities considerably faster, minimizing the need for such external, ad-hoc solutions.
Beyond saving you time and reducing costs, keep the problem solving processes in-house will minimize leaks of strategies, business plans, expertise, or any other valuable information that may become ...
How much would you invest in having exclusive access to highly valuable business information?
While keeping a strict ethical approach, we will give you access to undocumented, reliable information that will surprise you…
The TINO program will provide you with such undocumented
information at a lesser cost, while 90% of a company's
documented data is written once and never read again, according to a recent research.

The TINO program is offered usually in two different packages:
· TINO ‘for Individuals’ – By using the TINO methodology, we will help you fulfill your personal goals (personal needs, business networking or both).
· TINO ...
The Framework and Tools: The 8WH Matrix – part III
Written by Haim on 29 June 2011 in TINO Knowledge Center , Tools
In my last post I introduced the thinking behind our new framework. Today I would like to describe it in more detail.

Whether our solutions are assimilated by our clients or by us, they consist of four components:
· Developing a strategy
· Building effective human networks
· Generating information
· Structuring and maintaining solutions and policies
These may be provided in part or in full, according to the needs of the client.
The 8WH Matrix is part of a pair of tools which facilitate the application of the TINO framework. In order to effectively transform business or personal objectives into Business Questions (BQ ...

Conceptual Approach

In my last post, I introduced a new stage in the development of our Think Intelligence methodology. Today I would like to explain its innovative approach.
We started out in early 2003 with a series of projects carried out for a number of companies, primarily in Israel, Europe and Brazil. A large number of executives who were involved in implementing our methodology brought not only instructive feedback, but their personal perspectives as well.
We recognized that most of them were using the same basic practices. In dealing with virtually all business and personal dilemmas, executives first decided what ...
Introducing a new framework supporting strategy, business development and innovation

It is clear that navigating dynamic business or personal environments demands a constant supply of information. However, even though impressive developments are being made in all aspects of generating, managing and consuming documented information, 'pushed' from technically-oriented hubs, relatively little progress was made in the way of methods and tools to address the respective aspects of undocumented information – to be 'pulled' from human-oriented hubs.
Why there are so few, if any, practical and comprehensive methods for gathering undocumented information in the academic and business world alike is interesting in itself ...
